This does exactly what it says and it does it well. This makes an excellent and much cheaper replacement for a full KVM. By not including all of the circuitry needed to split and repeat multiple 4K video signals, it is far cheaper than any good KVM.It works perfectly in my home office where I regularly switch my three monitors and multiple USB devices between my work and personal computers. My monitors, like all monitors, have multiple video outputs so I just connected one set to my personal computer and one set to my work computer. When I put one computer to sleep or lock it, the monitors automatically connect to the running computer. You may have to make sure that your power settings are set to put your monitors to sleep after a certain period of inactivity to achieve this behavior.In terms of function it does one thing and it does it well. The box itself is very small and has only one button. The button feels sturdy and gives a satisfying click when pressed. I have been using it with two Windows 10 computers for a few months now and have not had any problems. Which is more than I can say for any of the KVMs I have ever used professionally or personally. I have never noticed any lag or had devices fail to be recognized when connecting them or switching between devices.The only time I noticed any degradation was when running a file transfer to a USB 3.0 flash drive while using my USB 2.0 peripherals, but I consider that expected behavior when multiplexing USB 3.0 and 2.0 data at the same time.An unexpected bonus is the quality of the USB 3.0 ports that makes this an excellent USB repeater as well as a switch. My new motherboard is unfortunately unable to provide enough power on USB 3.0 ports to run my Samsun Odyssey+ through a 6 foot USB extension cable. However, plugging the extension cable into the USB switch does provide enough power for it to run flawlessly. It also gives me an additional 3 feet of cable.Sadly we live in a world of rating inflation where 5 stars means that a product does what it is supposed to at a acceptable price. But really is a product that deserves 5 stars because it does more than I expected it to at a very low price.
